Tis the Season to be Baking

It's that time of year again.. yes.. the time of year when you scrape together all the money you can for presents and baking! We have started this year with our very own Gingerbread House.... This time last year I was making one that my friends Gina and Sara sent me for Christmas.. this year, we made one from scratch! This is what it finally looked like:

William was very happy with the Gingerbread House.. and we were especially proud of our stained glass windows! And as you can see... we kept on with our Italian flag theme :-D The next picture is the "stained glass" windows with the candle light shining through...

We used gummy bears, Reese's Pieces, Life savers, Peppermints, Melt-a-mints, Sweetened Coconut, Pretzel M&M's, Gum Drops, homemade icing, and of course the homemade Gingerbread :-)

This house took us an entire day, but it looks delicious and it was fun to make and decorate... I think maybe we will try again next year :)

We have also been decorating the house with homemade decorations.. I will try to take some pictures and add them this week..

Next... we will be baking/making fudge... chocolate.. toffee chocolate... peanut butter...and I am thinking of experimenting with some Nutella fudge too :-D I will post more after I have baked more :)

Happy Holidays!
