Why Can't Life Just Be Simple?

As many of my friends know, I am currently studying Global Business & Policy. However, I have decided that I really am just not interested with it at all! I do however love using programs like Photoshop etc, so I have been considering changing majors for the last time to Graphics & Multimedia..... but there's a problem....

...MONEY MONEY MONEY...



I already owe about $55,000 (I think that is right although it is probably more!) and by changing majors to study what I really want, I will put myself in an extra $64,000... So, I am have this major dilemma, do I continue studying business even though I don't like it, or do I put myself in further debt and get my final degree in what I really want?

This entire matter is driving me crazy because I really just don't know what to do. If you were in my situation what would you do ?

    Dear Emi,

    I know exactly what you are going through. I thought that once I got back to the States I'd be absolutely positive about getting a master in Native American Studies and trying to help Native American communities in anyway I could. Just like I was so passionate about the Tibetan issue (and still am.)But, frankly I don't know how anybody could make a difference in today's world. The corporate giants and multinationals have taken foot and people are blind to it.

    So, anyways... I'm also thinking of changing. I might be getting a masters in history. I've always loved it and definitely wish I knew more of it. So I can be all mournful when I think about the good old days.

    I think I've changed my mind for the 5th time... Change isn't always bad, but you have to recognize were your limits are. As I'm getting older I've realized we don't live in a world of heroes and I can't save a culture or two on my own but I can certainly teach people about these cultures and how valuable they are. Hence the story of a girl who wanted to draw comics and ended up teaching history instead... or at least until I change my mind again.XD

    So... back to your question: should you or should you not change majors?

    Emi you are a very intelligent girl (even though you might think you're not) and you're also a very creative. I believe that you'll do great if you change majors, even if it does mean spending an extra 10/15 thousand dollars. Plus, admitting that you don't like what you're doing now doesn't mean you're not good at it. Aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm not too technological myself buuuuut dosen't anything with computers involve getting a job just like that? We are living in THE technological era!
